Abstract: The aromatic constituents and relative contents emitted in vivo by three Cymbidium Varieties, with main aromatic constituents the silane, alcohols, keton, ester, terpenes and aromatic compounds at anthesis stage, have been identified by headspace solid phase microextraction and gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry(HS-SPME-GC-MS) analysis. The results indicated that the main aromatic constituents were Cineole(14.49%), (E)-4-Hexadecen-6-yne(8.97%) in Cymbidium faberi, Methyl isoeugenol(17.70%), 6-oxo-Heptanoic acid methyl ester(14.16%) in Cymbidium sinense and (-)-a-Selinene(30.05%), Dodecane(14.75%) in Cymbidium goeringii, The study may contribute to further study on aromatic constituents in different Cymbidium Varieties and may as well laid theoretical foundation for development of perfume fragrance industry.
