Abstract: Objective: To determine benzoic acid, sorbic acid and saccharin sodium in moon cake products by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). Methods: The zinc acetate and potassium ferrocyanide solutions were used as precipitators. The separation of three compounds was performed on Symmetry C18 column (250 mm×4.6 mm, 5μm) and mathanol-phosphoricacid salt buffer solution (9:1,V/V) as mobile phase. The respond was recorded by photodionde array detector. Results: The average spiked recoveries range from 92.4% to 103.0%. Their limits of detection are all 0.5 mg/kg. Conclusion: By analyzing actual sample, it is proved that this method is suitable for detecting benzoic acid, sorbic acid and saccharin sodium in moon cake products.
