Abstract: Objective: To study the effect of kudzu flavonoids extracts on the expression of bcl-2 and bax gene in HL-60 cells. Methods: To use RT-PCR and western blotting technology to detect the mRNA and protein expression level of bcl-2 and bax gene in the HL-60 cells treated by kudzu flavonoids extracts, puerarin and daidzein. Results: In a time-dependent manner, kudzu flavonoids extracts, puerarin and daidzein increased the bax mRNA and protein expression level and lowered the bcl-2 protein expression level. Conclusion: The ability of kudzu flavonoids extracts could induce HL-60 cells apoptosis in relation to lower the bcl-2 mRNA and protein expression level and increase the bax mRNA and protein expression level.
